Peace Players: Basketball summer camp

CCMC member Peace Players have announced a bicommunal camp for children ages 12-15 years old from the 27 of July to the 1 of August at the Rodon Hotel in Agros. The camp is open not only to youth from all PeacePlayers teams but others interested in basketball. The camp cost for each child is €50. The camp is supported by the US Embassy’s Bicommunal Support Program and Laureus Sport For Good Foundation. PeacePlayers- Cyprus uses the game of basketball to facilitate positive dialogue and interaction between Turkish-Cypriot and Greek-Cypriot youth, with the ultimate goal being improved relations between the two communities in Cyprus. PPI-CY aims to break down social and cultural stereotypes, develop young leaders from both sides, and build community involvement and investment.  The main aim of this camp is to teach and train children in the sport of basketball. In addition, children will participate in interactive games for intercultural dialogue and peacebuilding. The camp is open to 60 children, Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot, and 10 coaches. Camp Manager: Ms Marina Vasilara (+357-99-301586)
