Buffer Zone Bloggers weekend 29-30 April 2011

The two day event includes:

■Discussions with Egyptian activists about the role of social media
■Workshops on blogging, social media, and video animation

Friday and Saturday 29-30 April 2011 at the Cyprus Community Media Centre, in Nicosia’s buffer zone, next to Ledra Palace. Free wi-fi will be available for all, so bring your laptop!

REPORT: Health for undocumented migrants

CCMC member KISA are launching an important report on the access to health and living conditions of undocument​ed migrants and asylum seekers. There will be a launch event in cooperation with the Office of the European Parliament in Cyprus on Friday the 15th of April, at the House of Europe, 30 Vyronos Ave, Nicosia,  at 17:30 pm. CSO Fair in Famagusta 16 April 2011

ENGAGE are holding a full-day street fair for CSOs in Famagusta on Saturday 16 April from 10am to 9pm. The event will showcase the work of civil society organisations including exhibitions, street entertainment and music from local bands. Volunteers for the Home for Cooperation needed!

The Association for Historical Dialogue & Research (AHDR) is looking for volunteers to assist both in the lead up to and during the inauguration of the Home for Cooperation from 6-9 May 2011. Peace Players: Spring Basketball Tournament 7 May 2011

Peace Players-Cyprus is organising a “Spring Basketball Tournament” for youth aged 11 to 16 on Saturday, the 7th of May in Nicosia. The aim of this event is to bring children from different communities from across Cyprus together to play basketball in an inclusive and fun-filled environment. “This tournament is a great way to promote peace, and encourage Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot youth interact with each other and participate in sports. Our tournament will bring together over 150 children to play and learn with each other over an afternoon of basketball, food and music.
