The Mediterranean Development Network is inviting participation in a SDDP co-lab for NGOs and Local Authorities on the 10, 11 and 12 March 2011. The Structured Democratic Dialogue co-lab is part of a cycle of trainings and other activities organised within the framework of the international project “Mediterranean Development Network”, MeDevNet in short. The project “Capacity and Synergy building among NGDOs and LAs in Greece, Cyprus and Malta for development” is implemented in the target countries Greece, Cyprus and Malta and the project is funded by the European Commission. The overall objective of the project is to enhance cooperation of NGDO platforms and LAs in the three countries, Greece, Cyprus and Malta in order to become efficient agents of development and to participate in the planning of and the debate over EU development policy.
The co-lab wiill take place at Strovolos Municipal Hall in Nicosia at the conference area on the Mezzanine Floor on the following dates:
10th of March 2011. 12:00 – 18:00
11th of March 2011. 09:00 – 17:00
12th of March 2011. 09:00 – 13:00
The Triggering Question for the Structured Democratic Dialogue will be: “What obstacles prevent cooperation between Civil Society & Local Authorities in Cyprus towards achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)?”
The co-lab will be facilitated by Dr. Yiannis Laouris of Future Worlds Center.
